kayaking!
God bless Europeans and their lack of safety rules. The nautical center at Faro Beach let me take a kayak out in the ocean for FREE, no helmet, just a life jacket and a waiver. And this after several people in the same town told me it was impossible to rent a kayak. They also give out free surfboards and SAILBOATS. And there were two really good kitesurfers- it looks way easier than windsurfing or even surfing. I have to try it sometime!

Wow - your travel inconvenience balance rule seems to ALWAYS work! That's crazy. I wish it was the same way for college - like when you have a lot of work you would suddenly not have to do some of it. Instead the month of March is essentially hell where you just keep getting more and more work and less and less sleep. One month until my thesis is DUE - ahh!!
Anyway, kite surfing sounds cool. Do it! And the free rentals - sweet. If you come visit me in Maine at the end of May I'll take you to this island in Casco Bay where an old man rents out bicycles he collects at his house for free! It's cool.
