I spent this past weekend at 5 airports and driving 13 hours in the car in order to go to my grandmother's funeral. She died in her sleep, in her own house, at age 93. I guess a blog is an odd place for an obituary, but she was awesome. I think sometimes at funerals people have to fish for things to say, but with her there are endless stories. She was really appreciated for who she was. She lived her life exactly how she wanted to, and lots of people- photographers, painters, hunters, vacationers, locals- were fascinated by her. In fact, she was such a personality that it's strange to think she's actually gone.
