reunioning

ok, so this is a little late, but reunion was fun. Our class's list of activities went something like this:

10 am parade (don't go to this)
6 pm drinking
8 pm dinner, more drinking
10 pm drinking & music

Which, really, was fine! What else do you hope for from reunion, except that the people you hate will be fat and bald? Unfortunately, people mostly looked exactly the same as in college. The only exceptions were a couple of girls who were a lot hotter, and a couple of guys who looked 10 years older (in contrast to the stereotypes for men and women.) There were surprisingly few marriages- or if people were married, they didn't bring their spouses- and only two babies plus one pregnancy. (See- the educated wait longer!)

They've managed to bulldoze two of my favorite public buildings, Baxter (the student center) and the theater building. (As many people pointed out, we saw the planes crash into the twin towers in the mailroom in Baxter which is now gone.) The new Baxter looks nice, but has horrible sound-carrying, from a gameroom with air hockey and foosball in the basement all the way up three stories of purported study space. The theater building is much better, though Emily declares it "designed by Ikea."

Finally, a list of what's changed since I went to college:
• Williams paper facebook > Williams online facebook > Facebook
• black & green email terminals everywhere > texting your friends with the new cell phone reception (those of us that had cellphones in 2002 had to stand around one lamppost that got better reception)
• public computers > wifi for laptops
• black & white word-processed flyers for events > color photo flyers for events
• Thai place now has sushi
• Mission now has nice lounges & kitchens
• two more Spring St. businesses suspiciously burned down; new building on end of Spring St. for Where'd You Get That and the successor to the café

But don't worry- the mountains are still there, and the students are still white and rich!
