slippin' through the cracks

As a New York resident, I have to get my car inspected every year. But it only costs $20.

If I were to register my car in Illinois, I would have to pay $80/year just for a new sticker on my license plate.

As a student in Illinois, I don't have to be a permanent resident in Illinois, and therefore don't have to get the sticker. BUT- Illinois neither requires nor offers the yearly inspections that New York does. SO- I guess, the next time I drive back into New York, I'll stop at the very first gas station across the border and get an inspection. Until then, catch me if you can, SUCKERS!
