my luxurious vacation

I'm going to Austin to present a paper on language policy at a conference this week, and I just booked my dream hotel: The Super 8. It has internet! And a pool! And unlike the Rodeway Inn, it doesn't have online reviews mentioning cockroaches, mold, or dirt!

I can't believe that I get to have this paradisaical room to myself for three whole nights. The lows in Austin, like the highs here, are in the 60s. All I have to do is stand up in front of some people for 20 minutes on Friday, and the rest of the time, I mostly get to hang out, eat out with Eric Katerman, and whatever, go to some conference somethings wearing my favorite dress sandals. Ahhh... a second spring break, right before finals.
